Mohajir Academy: The Taliban-controlled Ministry of Education on Sunday, July 7, 2024, issued a statement dismissing rumors and reports about the reopening of 47 private girls' schools in Kabul.
The Taliban's Ministry of Education, in its statement, refuted the reports regarding the reopening of 47 private schools for girls above the sixth grade in Kabul, labeling them as “Untrue and Far from Reality.”
In recent days, some media outlets reported that 47 private girls' schools in Kabul, Afghanistan, had reopened. However, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, the Ministry denied these reports, calling them rumors and stating that it had no such plans.
The Taliban have kept girls' schools above the sixth grade closed for more than a thousand days. The group has also barred girls and women from taking the nationwide university entrance exam (Kankur) and attending universities.
Recently, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), on the occasion of the thousandth day of girls being denied education in Afghanistan, issued a statement urging the Taliban to allow girls to resume their education immediately.
Since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan, the group has imposed severe restrictions on women's and girls' education. Despite opposition from within and outside the country, regional and international observers have taken no serious or practical action to date. #mohajiracademy
